New tourist attraction to boost economy in Khong district
Authorities in Khong district, Champassak province, are confident that a new tourist attraction will help to draw more visitors and generate income for public and private investors. Now a riverside beach in the district’s Don Than village is becoming the latest tourist destination in the 4,000 Islands region and people from all walks of life are flocking there to enjoy a range of leisure activities. The beach is located at the head of Don Than village and is situated on an island. The local authorities have given permission for a group of local investors to develop it and provide leisure activities. District Governor Mr Sanan Siphaphommachanh told Vientiane Times on March 29 the authorities were happy with their visit to the site and that people of all nationalities were welcome to enjoy the amenities on offer.
